1. What does good customer service mean to you in this industry?
To me, good customer service means that you create an experience that customers are happy and confident to tell their friends about. Beyond just their feelings about the service, I think that as a company, you have to stand behind your work and take pride in it.
2. What’s unique about installing solar in Hawaii? What problems are homeowners looking to solve, and how do you help customers solve those problems?
In Hawaii, what’s unique about our market is the saturation. The majority of single-family homes already have solar on them, and that creates a unique set of circumstances where there’s high penetration and market density. You have to be able to work with older systems, add-ons, maintenance, and repair, and offer that full suite of services to really have a solution that works in Hawaii. We help customers solve the unique problems of the island’s remoteness and microclimates by building systems that are built to last.
3. What drove you to start working with Solar Insure? What impact has it had on your business?
What drove me to start using Solar Insure was a feeling that I wanted to be more confident when I was speaking about the longevity of these systems. It was very easy to tell customers that there was a 25-year micro-inverter warranty or a 25-year panel warranty. When it came down to batteries, most of them were only 10 to 15 years. When you look at return on investment in the long term, Solar Insure helps us all sleep better at night, knowing that these customers can rely on their system for many years to come.
