Solar maintenance and solar repair can easily become headaches for a homeowner, but with an installer out-of-business they can be crippling. While solar equipment manufacturers typically provide long-term warranties, those warranties normally don’t cover labor costs.
Homeowners who have chosen to work with a Solar Insure Certified Provider can receive an SI-30 warranty along with their solar purchase. For these homeowners, their equipment and labor cost is covered for 30 years, making maintenance and repair worries a thing of the past.
But what about homeowners who don’t have SI-30 protection, and maybe their original installer is no longer around? For these homeowners, SolarDetect is the solution they’ve been looking for – and it just got even easier.

Typical Solar Maintenance Costs

SolarDetect’s small monthly payment provides immense value compared to typical solar maintenance costs if a homeowner were to try and find another solar vendor or electrician to perform the work.
Maintenance and repair costs for solar have a wide range, depending on the work being done. For simple issues, like connectivity or software updates, homeowners could pay a few hundred dollars to have a technician on site. For larger issues, like replacing panels or inverters, homeowners could pay thousands of dollars.
The Solar Health Check
The video linked above walks through the new, updated sign-up process for SolarDetect. We’ve updated the process to make it even easier for solar homeowners to get the coverage they deserve. The video above gives a walkthrough of signing up and getting yourself started on your Solar Health Check if needed. You can learn more by visiting https://detect.solarinsure.com/#home
For systems where homeowners know or suspect there is an existing problem with their equipment, our expert team sets up a Solar Health Check before SolarDetect coverage can begin. During this Solar Health Check, our team accesses your system monitoring to evaluate any errors that may be present, as well as the likely cause of those errors. If a homeowner doesn’t have access to their system monitoring, the SolarDetect team will work with manufacturers to acquire access.
Once our team has completed their evaluation, they meet with a homeowner to discuss the existing issues and create an action plan for fixing. We’ll link you with a Certified Service provider who can help you resolve any existing issues. The Solar Health Check one-time cost doesn’t cover any repairs that may be necessary to fix a pre-existing condition, but our expert team makes sure that identifying and solving preexisting issues is easy and straightforward.
Once resolved, homeowners can enroll in SolarDetect coverage and have peace of mind that their system is protected going forward.
SolarDetect is currently available for homeowners in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.
