SaaS Product Manager
About Solar Insure
Solar Insure is on a mission to accelerate the clean energy transition by making residential and commercial solar ownership secure, seamless, and stress-free. Our cutting-edge software platform powers warranty, monitoring, and claims management tools that give solar contractors a competitive edge while ensuring long-term protection for homeowners. We help solar companies sell with confidence and build trust, while enabling faster growth with less operational friction.
Our core product, Daybreak, is a B2B software platform used by solar contractors nationwide to register warranties, manage fleet monitoring, and process claims. We are also expanding our ecosystem to support battery storage, predictive service insights, and commercial warranties.
We are a nimble, remote-first team passionate about building tools that truly make a difference for contractors, homeowners, and the planet. With strong momentum and deep industry partnerships, Solar Insure is scaling fast. We are looking for a product leader who thrives in high-ownership, high-impact environments.
About the Role
We are hiring a Product Manager (Strategy, Agile Execution & Team Growth) to lead agile execution for Daybreak. In this role, you will guide sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and cross-team alignment while mentoring junior product managers into full product ownership roles.
This is an exceptional opportunity to lay the foundation, introduce best practices, and shape how product delivery is executed in a growing, mission-driven software team. You will work across engineering, UX, and cross-functional stakeholders to define the roadmap, drive day-to-day execution, and influence long-term strategy.
We are looking for an exceptional product leader: a hands-on generalist with strong Agile roots who thrives in ambiguity, drives iteration, and brings discipline without rigidity. You are outcome-obsessed and biased toward actions that truly move the needle not just checking boxes on a task list. A systems thinker who can zoom out to align with high-level strategy and zoom in to drive hands-on execution — jumping into Jira, planning, leading, and running great sprints. Engineers, cross-functional department leads, and product stakeholders alike trust and respect your effectiveness, communication, collaboration, expertise, and leadership.
After your first 6–12 months of delivering results, you will support product expansion and take on strategic innovation evaluating new opportunities, defining MVPs, and helping launch new features and product lines. You will collaborate closely with leadership, sales, and operations to transform early-stage ideas into scalable, testable solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who blends product execution with a coaching mindset, someone who helps others grow, drives continuous improvement, and embraces change as an opportunity.
Your Responsibilities
- Own the backlog and roadmap execution for Daybreak, ensuring priorities reflect both business goals and user needs.
- Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and prioritization with engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Define clear, flexible user stories and acceptance criteria to drive high-quality delivery.
- Translate cross-functional input (sales, operations, support, compliance, leadership) into actionable priorities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Marketing to launch impactful features.
- Improve product<>engineering communication with dashboards, visuals, and clear status updates.
- Coach and mentor junior product managers, helping them grow into confident, high-performing product owners.
- Strengthen long-term team health with retrospectives, documentation, and continuous improvement practices.
- Ensure UX priorities are tightly aligned with product delivery timelines. Partner with UX to scope, sequence, and translate designs into actionable Jira tickets.
- Translate UX concepts, prototypes, and wireframes into clear, actionable Jira tickets that are developer-ready.
- Facilitate ongoing collaboration between UX and Engineering, ensuring design intent is carried through to implementation.
- Support early-stage strategic work by identifying market opportunities, defining MVPs, and driving cross-functional alignment.
Skills
- Six or more years of product management experience in SaaS, ideally B2B or platform tools, with proven experience leading Agile teams and driving strong sprint execution and backlog management
- A systems-thinking mindset and generalist skill set, able to switch between strategy, execution, and team development
- Experience mentoring product managers or team leads with a passion for coaching and growing others
- Clear, effective communication you manage expectations, clarify priorities, and align diverse teams
- Comfort in fast-changing environments where ambiguity is the norm and iteration is the path forward
